The hotel building is an example of Venice’s minor architecture, but preserves the fascination of the ancient city. The Barbaro family came to Venice from Rome in 868, and members of the family fought in battle as Venetian army commanders or served as diplomats engaged in complicated relations with the Republic’s overseas possessions. As you come in by the distinctive courtyard with the well bearing the family name, you will be engulfed in the intimate and very particular atmosphere of a Venice of the past. Walking under the archway leading to the water gate on the Rio di Ca' Dolce, you will be carried back to the age of gondolas moving to and from among the palaces, mysterious custodians of amorous intrigues and conspiracies. The original 13th century beams and marble features in the space used as the reception hall have been preserved in perfect condition by careful restoration, and the chandelier and splendid antique mirror are specimens of the sublime skill of the master glaziers of Murano.

Hotel bien situé et agréable
Chambre refaite, mais en couleurs sombres et tristes, dommage ! Personnel très sympathique. Si le lobby était un peu mieux décoré l'hotel pourrait être très bien.
Bel hotel, tres belle chambre, il manquait juste le mini bar, ce qui est etonnant pour un 3 etoiles, tres bon service, tres bien place, parfait pour visiter Venise....un sejour de reve.
Jolie chambre tres propre. Hotel bien situé (au calme). Personnel de la réception tres accueillant. Seul bémol le petit dejeuner n'est pas à la hauteur du reste.
Personnel qui parle français, très gentil. Seules les femmes de chambres et les personnes qui préparent le petit déjeuner ne sont pas souriantes. Sinon, dans l'ensemble, ce fut un agréable séjour mis à part le prix pour 2 nuits que je trouve exessif !!
tres bien placé pour les visites (à deux pas d'un arret de la ligne principale du vaporetto)
C'est un hôtel typique italien avec une décoration un peu baroque, très chaleureuse. Il est de taille moyenne à petite et possède beaucoup de charme. J'ai vraiment apprécié mon séjour dans cette hôtel. P.S: Le petit déjeuner était très bien aussi et inclus.
